Oak Lodge offers its occupants a sense of calm and an immediate place to relax, partly due to its contemporary 'sunhouse' design – allowing the natural light to beam through the home, thus providing ever changing views from all angles, throughout the day and into the evening.
The ground floor of the property is home to a welcoming entrance area, a family bathroom and 3 of the 4 bedrooms. The first bedroom at the front of the house features two twin beds. Opposite this bedroom is the spacious family bathroom, with both bathtub and shower. Due to the properties smart design, and the fact the other bedrooms each have access to private bathrooms, this means that there is a designated bathroom for each of the four bedrooms – making this property hugely popular amongst multigenerational families and friends.
At the back of the house you will find 2 double bedrooms, both in a modern style with king size beds, double wardrobes, and en-suites. The larger, master bedroom, offers a bath and shower, whilst the second double provides guests with a shower room. Both bedrooms lead out onto the large outdoor terrace and enjoy stunning views of the beautiful Howells Mere Lake. Due to the property's south-facing aspect, it enjoys sunshine for much of the day and into the evening - an extremely desirable location. This spacious decking area is one of many highlights of the property as it is right on the water (with a safety glass surround) and is the perfect relaxation spot from which to watch both the resident paddleboarders and kayakers, and of course the resident wildlife. The deck has dining space for 6, a parasol, a large rattan sofa and hot tub (option at £125.00) - a real treat!
On the first floor, the open plan lounge and kitchen/dining area is the hub of the house thanks to the vaulted ceiling and triple height windows which frame the picturesque views. The well thought out and modern decor of the living area - with the centre piece Scandinavian wood effect gas fire - allows for comfortable and stylish living, alongside a smart TV, Amazon Alexa smart speaker and super-fast broadband. The open-plan kitchen and dining area are fully equipped, making it the perfect entertainment space for families and/or friends. The balcony overlooking the lake to the rear of the property has a two-seater coffee area and a swinging egg chair, perfect for a sunrise coffee from the provided Nespresso machine. Additionally, the first floor provides the fourth and final bedroom; a triple bunkbed with full size double bed and single above.
Finally, at the top of the house, you will find the mezzanine area that overlooks the expansive living and dining areas below. It is up here that you will find the children (of all ages!) playing on coffee table arcade machine – that includes many classics such as, Pacman and Space Invaders. You will also find a further shower room on this level that is perfect for the guests occupying the triple bunk bedroom below.
Oak Lodge is a pet friendly house and welcomes guests with a small/medium sized dog by prior arrangement. There is one parking space available for the house. For those needing multiple parking spaces, there are guest visitor spaces available close to the property or there are two car parks on the estate, the closest just a short 2-minute walk from the house.

Oak Lodge is offered with the option of hiring a 6 person HOT TUB, located on the private balcony area of your property, set lakeside with wonderful views of Howells Mere Lake. Option at 125.00 for the full duration of your stay.

Please note that due to insurance restrictions & potential health & safety compliance issues, we had to remove the BBQ's from each property. Therefore our lodges do not have a BBQ, so please remember to pack your own or alternatively purchase a disposable BBQ for alfresco cooking
WATER REEDS: The actual height of the water reeds will vary dependant on the season & the cycle of the water reed cut back during your stay. This process is governed by strict regulatory restrictions set by the local overseeing environment agency, which the estate is legally bound to comply with. This could very well affect the view of the lake from, the property, which as a result could vary from the video footage & images depicted on this website
